Disposable tableware. Many people opt to use it even in their homes to save themselves the inconvenience of washing dishes. But our need for convenience comes at a huge cost to our environment.

You can get plastic and styrofoam, which won’t break down in the environment, and paper disposables, that does break down eventually, but the manufacturing of paper is highly unsustainable, using up resources, like water and paper, at an alarming rate.

There is an alternative to those who still crave convenience. It comes made from biodegradable beetroot fibers. Made using thermal technology VegTabWare has formulated disposable vessels to eat and drink from, that can be disposed of after use that decompose after 30 days.

The material is 100% safe for humans and pets, and our planet. Beet is great for plant nutrition, so you can throw your vessel into the compost when you’re finished using it. They also have a pleasant taste, so food won’t be affected, and it is suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets, diabetics, children, and pregnancy.

Use it for dry and liquid dishes, microwave and oven safe, and can also be used in the freezer. So far VegTabWare makes soup bowls, dessert plates, snack plates, dinner plates, and coffee cups, so consider getting these for your next party or camping trip.

VegTabWare is available on Kickstarter on 15th January, you can sign up here, and don’t forget to like their Facebook Page.
