When the pandemic hit, no country was left unaffected. Not just with the virus itself, but tourism was completely obliterated. Many countries are still suffering the aftermath, and we are now left to pick up the pieces.

A country that was already suffering economically even before the pandemic is Greece. Greece's goods and services were less competitive and plunged the nation into insurmountable debt during the 2007 global financial crisis. Then in 2015, Greece defaulted in the amount of €1.5b to the International Monetary Fund, throwing the nation into an economic crisis. The pandemic was the nail in the coffin for many, and it is going to take years to recover.

Peace for Greece aims to help rebuild the economy, through promoting sustainable tourism on their website, and selling local products. Greece is known for its incredible olives and honey, so these are just two of the products sourced sustainably from local suppliers.

Peace for Greece also partners with Threads of Hope, a collective committed to helping women who have been forced into prostitution by rebuilding their lives by starting their own product business.

Anything you spend through Peace for Greece goes back to the local economy and supports local initiatives and-- more importantly, gives the chance for Greeks to enjoy their country just like the entire world.
