Happy Spell

Oklahoma City, OK, USA
When we think of the words “artisanal” and “handmade”, we expect something unique—something special. Artisans are craftspeople, innovators, they go against the societal grain, and are able to think, and exist, outside the box.
This is the first impression you get with Happy Spell, a sustainable styling service, and vintage store. As the name suggests, it’s a brand that is built on positive feelings of love and happiness, with magical treasures and trinkets that have been designed and constructed using thrifted and upcycled items, and an endless imagination.
It doesn’t take long to figure out that the founder, Micah’s fate as a sustainability warrior was sealed from a young age. She was raised in Oklahoma, and as a child would spend her time hanging out and working in her grandmother’s thrift store. As an impressionable young girl, Micah learnt to make her own clothes, and by the time she reached college, she had decided to only buy thrift fashion.
Their hero product is their Spell Jar Charms. They’re tiny jars purchased from a local thrift store. They’re small enough to fit onto necklaces and keychains, or they tailor secondhand bralettes with a ring in the center, where they attach a spell jar charm to your bra so it sits by the heart at all times.
Micah is always on the hunt for preloved fashion and accessories that she can repurpose and breathe new life into. She truly is a leader in circularity. Happy Spell is paving the way for other brands to consume less, and reuse more, and we hope to see more brands just like it.
