Hi all, I wrote a piece this week exploring the issue of food waste - it’s a big problem! My county in England alone produced 50 tons of avoidable food waste in less than two months last year.
Thankfully there’s a lot we can do to improve the situation - being aware of the key 5 reasons for food waste gives a helpful starting point.
Details in the link below - come back here and let me know your thoughts. What do you do to minimise food waste?
Freezers are great at preventing food waste. The only thing you cannot freeze is lettuce
Funny, I wrote an article about food waste this week too. I’m on the other side of the world, in New Zealand, where this is also a big problem. Hope it’s ok to post here? https://eco-pippa.com/10-ways-to-reduce-food-waste-at-home/
Indeed, also an understanding of how to use scraps of food or food on the turn is fantastic aswell. I'm making marmalade and pot pourri this weekend from on the turn oranges
